Inaugural Manufacturing Revenue Growth Summit in Birmingham Deemed a Resounding Success

BIRMINGHAM, UK – November 2025 – The inaugural Manufacturing Revenue Growth Summit, held at the Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham on November 12, successfully convened over 120 UK manufacturing sales professionals, technical leaders, and business developers.

Focused on the theme, “Where Technical Excellence Meets Human Connection,” the event provided actionable strategies to navigate challenges posed by AI transformation, global uncertainty, and skills shortages.

The summit successfully positioned human connection and mindset as the core drivers for growth in a digital age, moving the conversation beyond mere product innovation.

Key Highlights and Strategic Quotes

The day featured high-impact sessions from leading experts, underscoring the critical shift required in sales strategy and leadership:

Focus on Account Growth & Value

Sales performance consultant Simon Hazeldine challenged attendees to move beyond transactional relationships, urging account managers to become indispensable strategic partners.

“Only 28% of leaders report getting the revenue growth they want from their accounts,” Hazeldine noted. “Prescription without diagnosis is malpractice. Your job is to be the indispensable strategic business partner.”

Paul Watts, addressing the consultative revolution, reinforced this view by advocating for AI-enabled preparation and mastery of discovery, urging teams to present both ROI and the Cost of Inaction (COI) to customers.

Mindset and Performance

The critical role of personal mindset was a recurring theme. Performance coach Steve Head introduced the “149:1” concept and the simple, impactful Four-Minute Rule for transforming relationships.

The emotional high point of the day was delivered by Paralympic gold medallist Aaron Phipps and performance coach Jon Cooper, who shared their journey to world-champion status by returning to first principles. Their message: “You don’t need a pandemic to unlock your potential. It’s a mindset shift.”

AI: A People Opportunity

Julie Holmes led a practical 90-minute workshop on AI empowerment, introducing the 20-60-20 framework (20% human strategy, 60% AI execution, 20% human touch).

“Everyone will be an AI user, but very few will be empowered by it,” Holmes stated. “AI is a people opportunity, not a technical one. Lead by example.”

Industry Roundtable Insights

Roundtable discussions addressed the most pressing industry challenges, with participants focusing on shared solutions across:

  • Pipeline Management: The need to clear “zombie deals,” with the insight: “Better a red or green. Never stuck on amber.”
  • Talent: Attracting young talent by offering development and purpose, not just job security.
  • Customer Retention: Shifting customer success from a department to a mindset, requiring co-creation of success plans.

Looking Ahead

The Manufacturing Revenue Growth Summit demonstrated that the future of UK manufacturing belongs to those who embrace strategic change and invest in their people. It will return, once again co-located with the National Sales Conference in Birmingham, in January 2027.
