Global equipment manufacturer JCB recently demonstrated how this strategy operates in practice. Specifically, with two major developments that highlight the strength of family-led business networks, customer care, and strategic channel expansion.

Sustaining Regional Loyalty: A 40-Year Business Partnership

In the UK, Gloucestershire-based civil engineering and housebuilding firm KW Bell Group reinforced its four-decade partnership with JCB. The company did so by placing an order for 21 new tracked excavators.

Supplied through dealer Holt JCB, the new 140X and 220X models join KW Bell Group’s existing 100-strong JCB fleet. The machinery will be deployed across Bell Contracting and Bell Homes housebuilding projects throughout Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, and South Wales.

For B2B leaders, the transaction highlights how long-term customer retention relies heavily on local dealer support, product reliability, and shared corporate values.

Peter Bell, Managing Director at KW Bell Group, emphasized that the strength of the local dealership relationship remains a central factor in their procurement decisions. “The dealership relationship is one of the main reasons we buy JCB, as the support they give us is very important, alongside machine reliability,” Bell noted. “Customer care is at the top of their list.”

To mark the milestone, Lord Bamford presented a commemorative signed picture to Peter Bell at JCB’s World Headquarters, celebrating the generational relationship between the two family-run operations.

Expanding International Reach: Australia Strategy

Simultaneously, JCB is accelerating its international footprint with the opening of a new flagship dealership in Truganina, Victoria. Developed in partnership with Adaptalift Group, the purpose-built facility marks a significant step in JCB’s Australian growth plan.

The investment reflects a broader strategy to shorten the supply chain between manufacturing facilities and end-users by taking direct control of importation while expanding the regional dealer network across key metropolitan territories, including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide.

“JCB is a family business, and we want to give our customers the finest support,” stated George Bamford, JCB’s Deputy Chairman. “Australia is one of our most important markets, and this next chapter with Adaptalift is going to be central to our growth.”

Lindsay Whiffen, CEO of Adaptalift Group, added that the focus for the new facility centers on rapid service turnaround, parts availability, and fleet uptime for commercial operators across construction and agricultural sectors.
