Hello & Happy New Year to you! Hmmmm…

There is always the challenge of when to stop saying Happy New Year… is there a set date?

Whenever you stop with the good wishes for a happy and healthy year, what’s important is that we understand the effect the New Year can have on people.

Although there was a lot of joy surrounding Christmas and ringing in 2023 with those close to you, it cannot be said for everyone. There is often pressure we put on ourselves to have ‘the best night ever’ or to make this ‘the best year of our lives’, but this can be unrealistic when the reality is, 1st January is just another day.

Awareness around mental health has definitely improved, but steps still need to be taken to stem the devastating effect of those who suffer. Checking in on people at this time of the year to see how they are doing, seems simple but is sometimes difficult to do!

Plan to Start the New Year Strong

How many emails did you come back to after the break? How many deals need attention straight away? Feel like you’re already playing catchup? If so, it’s time to kick the year off with a bang. The last thing you want to do is ease your way into the year so, instead of thinking that January is going to be a slow month and nobody has time to take a sales call, spend your time wisely and do these tasks instead.

LEADERSHIP INTERVIEW

Over the years, companies have taken many different approaches when broadening their go-to-market strategy. The most common mistake companies make is to assume that they can copy and paste their existing sales process, hiring profile, development plans or success metrics. In this interview, we talk to George Donovan, CRO of Allego and discuss: why he built his SMB team from the ground up, how he built a structure that incentivised teamwork over individualism & how he attracted high quality talent.
