I’ve been trying for a few months now to get into the habit of reading, something that’s proven to improve focus, memory and communication skills.
Reading allows you to learn new things to help you succeed at work and in your relationships. One book I’ve thoroughly enjoyed was written by former F1 racer & BBC Top Gear’s original ‘The Stig’, Perry McCarthy.
Damon Hill, 1996 F1 World Champion, said of McCarthy: "I have constant admiration for how he turns a no hope situation in to some sort of triumph".
After reading his story, I couldn’t agree more with this quote! Perry embodies the fact that ‘everyone is in sales’, a master networker having to consistently sell himself to get his sponsorship in a super competitive sports environment. For every failure, Perry dusted himself off and got back in the driving seat.
Want to hear from Perry yourself? He’ll be joining us next Wednesday, 1st March, sharing the ups and downs of his career and the meaning behind his motto ‘Whatever it Takes’…
